Good Evening Everyone
Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend thus far. The weather looks to be nice through the rest of the weekend with the exception of Northern New England where clouds will build tomorrow and there will be a threat of light rain/ snow showers later in the day. However, the weather this upcoming week will be interesting. A series of disturbances that will impact our region through Thanksgiving. These systems will bring rain to southern parts of the region, and rain/snow to northern parts of the region. Temperatures will be mild to end the weekend, However some cooler air will intrude back into the region through Thanksgiving.
Surface Analysis:
Currently, there is an area of high pressure over the Atlantic ocean. This is responsible for bringing in milder air into the region. A low is present over the Northern Great Lakes. There is a tight gradient between the Low and High that is resulting in the windy conditions across the region this weekend. Behind the low, there is a frontal boundary extending down to California. There are a series of disturbances along the front. This will impact our region through the upcoming week. A low across California will be the big player for the region Tuesday Night into Wednesday. Thanksgiving day looks to be dry and nice.
Tuesday Night-Wednesday Storm:
Low over California will track across the country and move into the region late Tuesday. This system will bring a good amount of rain. This storm will pack some good wind and waves for Coastal Southern New England. However, there is an area of high pressure that will track behind the low along the Canadian border. This will provide some cool air to the region. This could potentially set up for a Rain to Snow event for some across the region. The areas of concern as of now is higher elevations of Northern New England and Eastern NY. Stay Tuned for more updates throughout the week for this unfolding event.
