Severe Weather update for 3 PM

Much of Northern New England is dry. This will continue thru the  remainder of the day. There is a chance of isolated storms. Clearing.
Currently across much of South New England, we have mostly cloudy skies with some clear skies and sun poking thru the clouds.  There is  a CAPE; convective available potential Energy at the surface between 1000 to 2000 J across much of southern New England. There is a good  amount of energy in the atmosphere near the surface for storm development.  With the sun,  precipitation, Hot/Hazy/Humid conditions, and CAPE, this will result in the atmosphere becoming more unstable.  For Storms to develop, we need the mentioned ingredients and much more.   On radar, there are scattered showers and thundershowers across coastal Mass and eastern New York.  A batch of precipitation in eastern New York is the area that has the potential to develop into storms across southern New England.   If there is  not much sun, and the cape levels decrease, Storm threat will decrease. If you see dark clouds and hear thunder, take precautionary actions toward getting to shelter.  Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are within distance of a lightning strike.
