Eye on the Tropics
The Atlantic Ocean Basin is brewing with activity. Hurricane Katia will remain off shore and bring some waves to the New England coast. A new tropical depression formed today. The storm will head toward the lesser antilles and Puerto Rico. Anyone on the Gulf and East coast of the United States needs to be monitoring this storm as it progresses.
Analysis
A stationary Front is located offshore and extends down towards the southeast. The remnants of Tropical Storm Lee will move up the front and impact the region with unsettled weather and cool temperatures over the next few days. Flooding issues will persists though the day Thursday. High pressure will move in later this week and bring some dryer conditions.
Wednesday, September 7th
Rain and storms in the morning, especially across Western New England and Eastern NY. Downpours likely. Scattered Rain and storms in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures in the 50s and 60s across Northern New England, 60s and 70s across Southern New England and Eastern NY. Winds from the east-northeast at 5-15 mph with higher gusts possible. Low temperatures in the 40s and 50s to near 60. Winds from the east-southeast at 5-10 mph across Southern New England and Eastern NY, south-southwest winds at 5-10 mph across Maine with higher gusts possible.
Thursday, September 8th
Scattered rain in the morning, especially across Eastern NY and Western New England. Downpours likely. Scattered showers and storms in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures in the 60s and 70s. Winds from the east-northeast at 5-10 mph with higher gusts possible. Low temperatures in the
50s and 60s.
Friday, September 9th
Scattered showers and storms across Southern New England and Eastern NY. Isolated showers and storms in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures in the 60s and 70s across Northern New England, 70s and 80s across Eastern NY and Southern New England. Low temperatures in the 40s and 50s across Northern New England, 50s and 60s across Southern New England and Eastern NY.
Saturday, September 10th
Partly cloudy with isolated showers and storms across parts of Eastern NY and Southern New England. Sun and clouds in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures in the 50s and 60s across Northern New England, 60s and 70s across Southern New England and Eastern NY. Low temperatures in the
40s and 50s to near 60.
