Updated Forecast for Wednesday, September 14th thru Sunday, September 18th

Good Evening Everyone

Surface Analysis

   A series of cold fronts will move thru the region for the day Wednesday and Thursday.  There will be a chance of showers and storms in the afternoon and evening for those days.   Cold front will help push tropical storm Maria out to sea.  High pressure will settle in and bring some sunny weather, yet  some below average temperatures to the region.  The first frost of the year will occur across many parts of the region outside of the valleys.  Warmer weather will make a return for Monday.


Wednesday, September 14th

  Scattered showers and storms in the morning and afternoon. A few storms could be severe.  Sun and clouds in the afternoon. High temperatures in the 70s and 80s.  Winds from the west-southwest at 5-15 mph with higher gusts possible along the coast.  Low temperatures in the 50s and 60s.  Winds from the west-southwest at 5-10 mph with higher gusts possible.

Thursday, September 15th

  Partly cloudy in the morning with isolated showers and storms in the morning across Eastern NY and Western NY.  Scattered showers and storms in the afternoon and evening across the region.  A few storms could be severe.  High temperatures in the 50s and 60s across Northern New England, 60s and 70s to near 80s across Southern New England and Eastern NY.   Winds from the west-southwest shifting to north-northwest at 5-15 mph with higher gusts possible.  Low temperatures in the 30s and 40s, with some frost across Northern New England.  Winds from the west-northwest at 5-15 mph with higher gusts possible.

Friday, September 16th

 Patchy morning fog.  Mostly Sunny.  Cool.  High temperatures in the 40s and 50s across Northern New England, 50s and 60s across Southern New England and Eastern NY.   Winds from the northwest at 5-15 mph with higher gusts possible.  Low temperatures in the 20s and 30s across Northern New England, 30s and 40s across Eastern NY and Southern New England with frost likely for some. Winds from the northwest at 5-10 mph with higher gusts possible.

Saturday, September 17th

  Mostly sunny. Cool.  High temperatures in the 50s and 60s.  Winds from the  east-northeast at 5-10 mph across Eastern NY and Southern New England,  north-northwest at 5-10 mph with higher gusts possible.  Low temperatures in the 20s and 30s across Northern New England, 30s and 50s across Southern New England and Eastern NY, with some frost possible likely across parts of Northern New England.  Calm winds from the north-northeast with higher gusts possible.

Sunday, September 18th

  Partly Cloudy.  Warmer.  High temperatures in the 60s and 70s.  Low temperatures in the 40s and 50s.
