Analysis
Currently, we have Hurricane Irene located off the North Carolina/ Virginia coast and is moving to the north-northeast and will have the greatest impact on New England and Eastern NY from tomorrow morning thru early Monday morning. A cold front will move thru the region Tuesday afternoon thru early morning Wednesday. High pressure is present across the Northern Great Plains and will be present in our neck of the woods for Tuesday thru Thursday.
Sunday, August 28th
Mostly cloudy with Heavy rain and storms in the morning and afternoon. Some storms could contain isolated tornadoes within them, especially across areas of Southern New England and Eastern New England. Heavy downpours and catastrophic flooding likely for many across the region. Rain and storms should start to move out during the afternoon and evening across Southern New England. Lingering rains and storms across Northern New England and Eastern NY through Sunday evening and the overnight. Heaviest rains will be across Western New England, Northern New England, and Eastern NY. High temperatures in the 60s and 70s to near 80. Low temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Mostly cloudy with lingering rain and storms across Northern New England and parts of Eastern NY, Partly cloudy with isolated showers and storms across Southern NE. Sun and clouds in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures in the 60s and 70s to near 80. Winds from the west-northwest at 10-20 mph with higher gusts possible across Eastern NY and Southern New England. Low temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Winds from the west-northwest at 5-10 mph with higher gusts possible across on the coast.

Mostly sunny in the morning. Sun and clouds in the afternoon and evening with isolated showers across Northern New England. High temperatures in the 60s and 70s to near 80. Winds from the west-southwest at 5-10 mph with higher gusts possible. Low temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Winds from the west-southwest changing to winds from the west-northwest at 5-10 mph with higher gusts possible.
